Past Productions

Flash Frame Film and Video Network has hosted and produced dozens of workshops and collaborative film projects with emerging and established filmmakers, writers, actors, producers, and other industry professionals. We believe in fostering a learning environment and offering opportunities to artists from all walks of life.

Working collectively, we finished and premiered the 1930 silent movie “The Fatal Flower.” We wrote/edited/ filmed original artwork/commissioned a painting/composed 45 minutes of original music and an educational website http://www.ladylumberjack.ca and created a DVD collection.

Flash frame members created the one-hour documentary “Dorothea Mitchell: A Reel Pioneer” in 2007. It aired on BRAVO TV.

We produced more than 20 short films, such as  “Sticky Money,” “Silent Invaders,” and “Chopsticks,” and participated in 4 International Documentary Challenges (in 2010, we were finalists and prize winners at Hot Docs).

In 2013 an OAC grant for monthly Docs on Bay screenings paid for travel grants and artist fees to 6 out-of-town filmmakers to present films and conduct workshops.
